Heal Geometry

The Heal Geometry application exports the displayed part (or an existing part) to another new NX part to perform any required healing operations on the selected bodies.
As a result, after healing completes the work part is the same as before the application starts.

Healing does not retain associativity (with the healed bodies) that the original bodies had with drawing data, assembly reference sets, or any other type of associativity links.

How To:

Select File,Export, Heal Geometry.

  1. The tiny tolerance value is a measure of geometric feature size, below which the healer takes action to remove the feature.
  2. The Specify Output file submenu is available to change the output part name to something other than the shown Output File default part name. The default part name is the work part's file name with a "_hg" suffix, which stands for healed geometry.
  3. Choosing OK runs the application.

Each solid highlights during healing.
The NX window status line reports progress as Healing body N of M.

An informational window shows the summary counts of the major healing operations. The system log file also contains an audit trail of the heal operations.

Windows 7 Testing

Windows_7_Logo

Fun time in the old CAD Geek cave.  I’m doing some testing with Windows 7.  Initial results are very promising.  From a CATIA perspective as well as just for fun.  Been running it since Beta, then to RC1.  Now I’m running RTM, and all is good.  This is what Vista should have been.

Stay tuned for more information to come!!
